Court
The shelter hearing for our foster boy was yesterday. The social worker told us she would be shocked if he got sent home and was defiantly advising against it. But low and behold the judge sent him home and because he was at school at the time we didn't even get to say good-bye. The judge and the social worker have both thanked us though for being willing to take a teenage boy in. I guess they are really hard to place.

Another 12 Year Old Boy (Or Not)
Yesterday I went to the foster parent training and support group in our area. Our social worker from our first placement needed me to fill our some paper work and I asked if she had anymore kids she was looking for a placement for. She told me that there was another 12 year old boy that she was going to be investigating the situation of right away. Our worker said she would let us know what happened. So about five hours later I get a call from my husband asking me if we want to take 12 year old boy and letting me know what the situation is.
After talking about it we call the social worker back and let her know that if she cannot find someone in a closer proximity to his school that we would be willing to take him. She says that sounds good and she will let us know what she finds out. She also adds that she just found out he is 15 and not twelve. Are we still willing? I tell her we are still willing and about an hour later I get the call that they are coming out to our place as nobody else that she had called as a possible placement has called back.
So at about 7:30 pm we got our second placement. So far he is doing well I am sure that as he gets more comfortable here there will be things to work through. He is a really good eater and is very appreciative of any and ever thing we are doing for him.

Gone Home
Our first foster boy went home to Oregon today. He was really excited about that. There was court this morning and then his mom took him home with her.

Whiter than snow.
The snow is making it way down the mountains. Each morning when we wake up and look out the snow level is lower. All day yesterday "Q" would ask when we would be getting snow, like every 5 minutes. The snow covers the land and gives it a fresh clean look. Just like the snow serves to cover the death brush and barren ground so Jesus blood will cover the dirt in our lives.
Today in the children's class at church they were learning about the two roads one leading to eternal life and the other to eternal death. The teacher had the children decide to which path different behaviors, habits, and choices belonged. But ultimately we need Jesus blood to cover us making us whiter than snow, like the snow covers the mountainside.
Our foster boy "Q" seemed to really be soaking the idea of the two paths. This evening he commented that he really liked church this morning. My goal is that he will learn about Jesus while with us and go away with a better picture of who Jesus is from his time here.

Baby Colt
Today, I also became an Aunt for the first time. My brother and his wife first baby was born today. What a great day for a birthday 11-11-11.
First Placement
We picked up our first foster placement. A twelve year old boy. Keep us in your prayers as he talks incessantly. I have been asked the same questions more times then I can remember today. He says he likes us but thinks we need a TV.
